The defense tackle plans to invite the young fan to a Kansas City Chiefs game.
Tershawn Wharton’s quick reaction after the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Carolina Panthers saved a young boy, preventing him from hitting the ground.
On November 24, 2024, after the Chiefs-Panthers game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, a young boy fell from the elevated stands while trying to get players’ attention. Tershawn Wharton, a defensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs, reacted instantly, catching the boy mid-fall and preventing a serious injury. With help from a security official, Wharton safely returned the boy to the stands.
Before the incident, security guards had warned the children to stay back from the railings, but their warnings were ignored. Wharton described his quick action as a “natural reaction” and expressed a desire to reconnect with the boy and invite him to a game.
The Chiefs won the game 30-27, marking their 10th consecutive double-digit win season.
