Jelly Roll is looking pretty different these days. The rapper-turned-country-singer recently took to social media to share his transformation, noting that he’s lost 100 pounds so far on his weight loss journey.
“Next year when y’all see me, you won’t recognize me,” Jelly Roll — whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord — said in an Instagram video from Oct. 23. “I’m going to get under a pile of weights in a way that I never have.”
Jelly Roll is making impressive strides in his weight loss journey during the Beautifully Broken tour. The “I Am Not Okay” singer revealed he’s reached his goal but plans to continue working hard through the tour’s end. “When I see y’all in March for Canada, y’all won’t even recognize me,” he joked.
His nutritionist, Ian Larios—who has also worked with UFC fighters like Daniel Cormier and Jamal Hill—shared insights into Jelly Roll’s progress. Larios noted the 39-year-old stays active by walking arenas before concerts and playing sports like basketball and boxing. Dietary changes, including high-protein meals and a unique pre-show snack of banana, manuka honey, stevia, and dark chocolate, have been key. Larios called his new habits “life-changing.”
