She reached into her bag, pulling out a stack of emails and messages between her and Matthew. “He’s been lying to both of us. I had no idea how manipulative he was.”

“I’m so sorry,” she said, her eyes filling with tears. “I want to help you. I don’t want any part of his schemes.”

When Matthew saw us, his face went pale. “Abbie, what are you doing here?”

“It’s over, Matthew,” I said, my voice strong. “We know everything—about your lies, your betrayal. You won’t get away with it.”

The police officers moved forward, presenting the legal documents. “Mr. Johnson, you’re being served with a restraining order. You need to vacate the premises.”

Matthew’s bravado crumbled. “This isn’t fair!” he shouted, desperation seeping into his voice.

“It’s perfectly fair,” I replied, holding up the divorce papers. “You made your choice. Now you’ll face the consequences.”
