An audition can’t get any cuter than this.
Seven-year-old Shaney-Lee, who lives on a farm in southwest England, is surrounded by animals like horses, goats, and chickens. Naturally, he’s a big fan of country and western music. His connection to the countryside made John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” the perfect choice for his blind audition on “The Voice Kids” UK.
At one point, judge will.i.am asked, “Have you ridden on a horse?” Shaney-Lee confidently replied, “I came here on my horse today.” This little fact added to the charm he had already brought to the stage.
From the moment he stepped out, the audience was charmed by his cuteness. The judges recognized his adorableness immediately, but they were about to find out if he could sing.
As he started singing, “Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze, country roads, take me home…,” judge Danny Jones exclaimed, “That is the cutest voice I’ve ever heard!”
The audience was equally enchanted. Within twenty seconds, they were on their feet, clapping along, and some even had tears in their eyes.
“The Voice Kids” UK, open to children between 7 and 14, showcased Shaney-Lee’s unique charm. His mom describes him as “definitely an older person in a little man’s body.”
The overwhelming cuteness finally got to judge Pixie Lott, who couldn’t hold back any longer.
